Philosophy of Teaching
When I think of myself as a teacher I look back to my experiences as both a student and as a teacher. I’ve come to realize that when I was having fun I learned the most. To have a successful learning environment, I believe that fun and learning have to be involved and balanced. I want my classroom to be a place of learning, safety, and fun. My goals are to be a reliable teacher who allows students to grow, fosters their creativity and experimentation, and doesn’t let change catch me off guard. I want to engage my students through hands-on activities and connecting their personal experiences to the curriculum. My students should feel comfortable teaching me about their classroom family and culture as much as I feel comfortable teaching them the curriculum. In my classroom, I believe that flexibility and building relationships are my strengths and I intend to use them to the fullest extent.
